Andrew Walker joined the Victims and Survivors Service (VSS) in October 2017, when he was appointed to the role of Head of Corporate Services. In this role, as a member of the senior management team, Andrew supported the CEO/Accounting Officer and was responsible for finance & governance, human resources, monitoring & evaluation, and programme management.
Andrew has held a number of senior management team positions within VSS, gaining experience across the organisation, and leading on a range of projects including the Troubles Permanent Disablement Payment Scheme and PEACE Programme delivery. Since January 2021, Andrew has been in the role of Head of Service Development, responsible for strategic programme delivery and development of support and services.
A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, Andrew qualified as a chartered accountant in 2005, and spent 6 years in private practice. Andrew joined The Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) as Corporate Accountant in 2007, gaining 10 years’ experience in financial management and corporate governance in a public sector environment, prior to joining VSS.
