The Aisling Centre provides a free, non-judgemental, confidential and professional counselling and psychotherapy service. The Centre has been providing counselling for victims/survivors of the troubles since it opened in 1990.

Welcome, hospitality and healing are central to our mission and ethos and we offer a range of services which promote emotional wellbeing and good mental health.

Therapists at the centre use a variety of interventions to work with people of all ages presenting with a complex range of problems/issues.

In addition to the range of services delivered directly by the Aisling Centre many other service providers operate out of the Centre – e.g. CMHT, AA, Aware, NA, Debt Advice NI, Escapists (carers support group), Families bereaved by Suicide Support Group, Bereaved Families support group, Westend Coffee Shop, Art & Yoga classes, etc.

The Aisling Centre is a company limited by guarantee. It is a registered charity and is managed by a cross-community Board of Directors.

The Aisling Centre is an organisational member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) and works to their ethical framework.

All psychotherapists are professionally trained and experienced. All therapists engage in both individual and group supervision and continuous professional development and receive regular line management and clinical support from the Centre’s Clinical Co-ordinator.

The Centre has strong working relationships with other statutory and community groups including the Community Mental Health Team, local GP Practices, Community Addiction Team, schools, healthy living centres, churches and a range of voluntary and community service providers.

The wide range of services/activities on-going in the in the Centre and the Westend Coffee Shop allow for an anonymous and non-stigmatising entry point.
